National Waterfowl Week at Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge

We visited Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge during National Waterfowl Week recently, mostly photographing waterfowl.
The section of the refuge that is accessible to the public is actually on located on Assateague Island which is just 2 minutes from Chincoteague Island.
The annual event is extremely popular among birders and travelers to Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. The star attraction are the snow geese, which arrive by the thousands just in time for the event.
