Pink Lake

A friend and I took a trip out to Pink Lake in the Gatineau Park.
It was a pretty interresting place. Because of the sheltered position of the lake, and it's shape, the waters do not mix like they would in a normal lake, so basically the bottom portion of the lake is "dead." It's a pretty lengthy explanation, but details can be found at the Gatineau Parks site. (Or see the description in one of the photos)
The trail was nice. Very nice. It was, however, mostly composed of stairs which I didn't enjoy very much. Go up a huge flight of stairs, read the info board, then down another huge flight - talk about a workout!
Bottom line, it was very interresting to see, but I don't think I'll be going back too often.
