Tsali trails
October 2006
NC
posted by JmacTN
The Tsali trails are located in western North Carolina in the Tsali Recreational Area. The trails consists of 4 loops: The Left loop, Right loop, Mouse Branch loop and Thompson loop. The trails are open to mountain bikes, hikers and horses. The trails alternate days between horses and Mountain bikes.
Some friends and I rode the Mouse Branch loop and the Thompson loop on a Saturday. The Left and Right loop were open only to horses and hikers that day.
Both loops were fast with little climbing. The Mouse Branch loop has more climbing than the Thompson loop. Both have fun downhill sections after the climbs. The only complaint I had was that both trails had many mud holes, probably due to the horses. There was also some fresh horse poo as obstacles on the trails. All in all, they are great trails and I recommend them both.
