Sal Hollow Trail - Mammoth Cave NP

October 2006
KY
posted by 3leftsmakeapar

Today (Oct. 15th) was a wonderful day to bike in Mammoth Cave NP with the leaves turning colors. The weather was perfect, temp was around 60 and the sun made several appearances. Sorry about the pics, they were taken with a camera phone.

Trail Description (from www.kymba.org)

Located in Mammoth Cave National Park, the Sal Hollow is a really nice trail with some smooth rolling terrain, a couple of rocky climbs and downhills. Beginners will be fine on this trail but might want walk some of the really rocky sections. Advanced riders shouldn't have a problem riding these trails and will enjoy the technical and fast sections.

Road this trail today (3/25/07). Excellent conditions, it was dry, the creeks were low, but easily crossable. It was actually a bit hot! Unseasonably warm, but I'm not complaining.
