Canoe Fest 07 Munfordville KY
June 2007
Munfordville , KY
posted by Jeff G

Me and the crew spent last Saturday floating on the Green River from Johnson Springs (off of 357 to 2185) down to Stovall Park in Munfordville KY. A short trip, only about 5-6 miles, but a meaningful one. Our main goal was to clean up any trash we found along the way. As you can see by the pictures, the trip was successful.
We got our feet and our canoe bottoms wet around 0800 and completed the trip by 1230. We collected a few old tires, a few bags of miscelaneous garbage, an old leather jacket, the guts to a recliner, a bicycle, and a starched pair of large underwear.
We took 3 of my daughter's college friends with us and they all had a blast. Two of them are from California and this was quite an experiance for them.
To our surprise there was a photographer filming our arrrival looking like Sanford& Son on canoes. He told me that he was filmong for the Hart County Tourism Bureau. He left after filming our arrival. Maybe we will be on the big screen some day????
It was a beautiful day to float and enjoy what God has given us. Looking to float Drakes Creek when the water is right. Any hints would be great.
Keep your lines tight and your bottoms wet,
Jeff
