Me and my first mate, aka daughter Roni, spent Friday paddlin around the wind swept waters known as Cedar Creek lake. It is a fairly new body of water that the state of KY dammed up, I think in 03? The water was warm and the wind was blowing briskly. It is almost impossible to fish out of a canoe when the wind blows constantly, unless you find some hidden coves to paddle thru. The lake is filled with manmade submerged rif-raf and once it matures will be an outstanding fishing spot. Right now the daily limit is 1 20” bucket mouth bass, that’s right only 1. I caught a few small BM’s the largest being 13” (see picture). Roni caught a few and a pretty nice papermouth, but not big enough to keep. Which for us would have to be wall worthy, or they get released. Catch and release is the only way to fish. Hope someone enjoys the snapshots.
To get to Cedar Creek, take the Blue Grass parkway from I-65 to the Lawerenceburg/Danville exit and follow Hwy150 all the way to the lake. Plenty of put in places for both motor boats and the original boat (the canoe). Have fun and keep you line tight and your boat bottom wet.
