Park Mammoth Trail
April 2007
Park City , KY
posted by wkumtrider
After a day of riding Sal Hollow in Mammoth Cave National Park, we decided to try to find this trail. It is on private property and belongs to an old lady who owns Park Mammoth Resort and the golf course behind the resort. This trail is hard to find if you've never been. Luckily someone in the area knew where the trail head started.
The trail starts on the other side of the gate in the picture. You travel down a gravel road and then ride a small railroad track for about a half mile until you hit singletrack. Once you hit singletrack, you better be ready because there is a lot of climbing on this trail. It is also pretty technical, as the trail is very rocky and there are several rock gardens to bomb through. There is quite a few new trail that was cut several months ago. A cool ramp was built to ride up on a large boulder. I wish I had my camera with me. The length is about 4.5 miles, but it feels like 8 after all the climbing.
If you're in the Park City area, check this place out. Just make sure you know how to find it!
