Sadly, sometimes it is cheaper and easier to buy an SS than it is to convert one.. and the new ones with the bottom bracket you can move for chain tension are way better.. Converting has so many problems,,, but if you love your old whip,,, it's a tough call

that's awesome. i'm looking into cyclocross for next winter. i'm getting ready for the xc season right now, but any suggestions on how to get into cross?
