I bought this Coleman one-burner stove from Campmor and it was “re-furbished”. I was a little skeptical, but also a little low on cash, and this was the best deal. I’ve had it now for 10 years and still use it. I have a newer stove and don’t use this one as much, but it’s still faithful. The only issue I’ve had is that the rubber gasket inside the pump mechanism has started to catch sometimes. You have to unscrew the pump and adjust it. I think this is replaceable for a few bucks. Again, I’m cheap. To operate this stove, you just pump it up (takes a lot of pumping sometimes if you have a half full tank), then you turn the valve on and light it with a lighter or match. It has some easy parts to operate on, basic screws and nuts to take it apart. It is a bit awkward to fill up with fuel though, it has an opening on the side, so you have to tilt the whole stove to pour the fuel. The other complaint I have is that it can be a bit top-heavy when you sit a heavy skillet or pot on it. Bottom line is, this is a cheap stove, and a good value for your money, you just have to deal with a few drawbacks that aren’t really that bad. I would reccomend the Coleman Peak 1 Backpacking Stove for a beginner or someone who doesn't want to drop a lot of cash right out of the gate. Comments
