I use this backpack on overnights and day hikes. If you are a light weight and pack efficiently you can fit all of your gear for an over night in this one. It has an outside pouch made of what looks like polypropylene that has a bungie cord running through it. I use this to hold my sleeping pad on, but it could be used for a camel back or a jacket, or whatever else you need. The pack fits my frame well, I’m 6’1”. It has a waistbelt and has a few straps hanging from the bottom on which you could attach another item. A top pocket and a sleeping bag pouch at the bottom are the only other storage areas. There are also two small mesh pockets on the side for drinks.
My only complaint is that the mesh pockets on the side are small. You can wedge a nalgene down in there, but it is tight and if you lean over it will come shooting out like a bullet. I got my funny bone cracked by a nalgene bullet one day when leaning over to tie my shoe.
