This is my first big backpack, I went from a day hiker to a backpacker a couple of years ago. It was a gift so even though it wasn't a name brand, I knew better than taking it back (I have done that a little too much). It's been on the AT a number of times and BSF twice. I also take it along on overnight car camping or paddling trips.

It has been a great pack, with no rips, or problems. It even came with a rain fly attached in one of the pouches. I think the only thing that I have noticed is that the hip pads are a little flimsy compared to the top brands. This only poses a problem when loading it down over 45 pounds. When I overloaded it I noticed more weight on my shoulders and I thought a stiffer waist pad would hold the weight on my hips better.
