This is the best tent I’ve ever owned, and if I remember correctly I’ve owned about 7 tents. This thing is bombproof. It puts up in about 5 minutes, it has color coordinated stake loops, it packs down as small as a small down sleeping bag, it has nice orange rainfly, and it has a lot of airy mesh without the fly on. You could fit 3 people in it in a pinch. I’ve had it up on 14ers in Colorado and California, the slopes of the smoky mountains, and just about everywhere in between. It holds up well in snow (not sure about how it would do with more than a few inches). I’ve owned it for about 3 years and it hasn’t had any snags, zipper sticks, or any other common tent troubles. I’d rank it at the top of its class.

tedschram   I have one of these tents too, big & roomy, light, the space can be a little awkward because of the shape, but it works. I wish it had 2 doors. I got the first model that came out - Sierra Designs changed it a little recently. I got it on ebay for $150, new, with tags & everything. ebay's a good place to look for gear!

Total Weight 6 lbs. 3 oz.

Weight using the rainfly and footprint only - 3 lbs. 4 oz.

Since it's two person, it splits nicely between two people. One carries the poles and stakes, one carries the tent. So, you can half that weight if you split it. SD makes lighter 1 person tents similar to this I think.

Do you know how much your tent weighs?
