This knife quickly became my favorite camp knife. The Seal Pup is the 3/4 scale version of the SOG Seal knife, the knife designed for use by Navy SEAL teams. It is very well balanced in the hand and grips amazingly. I have read that the blade's powder coating will scratch off over time, but I take care of my gear and it still looks fine to me. I remember that this thing was sharper right out of the box than I can get most of my other knives with one of those clamp style sharpening systems. It comes with a nylon sheath, but I have seen that you can also buy a hard Kydex shealth that has a nifty notch in it so you can cut rope without removing the knife. |
