Just received & haven't tried it yet, so I qualify the rating to just cover initial impressions. It took me awhile to build the courage to drop the cash for this bag. My rationale that brought me to buy it is 1) my golite ultra 20 was too cold for most conditions 2) my second choice was western mountaineering and their bags cost even more 3)I toss and turn and need a bag that can give me some extra room to side sleep and roll 4)ample reviews online say this bag is very comfortable and insulates as advertised 5) with the economy tanking, my dollar will be worth less in a week, month or a year, so I may as well drop the coin now since the need isn't going to go away.

I'll follow up on the review after I try it out. I intend this to be my all around bag from here on out. I purchased this bag to replace my Golite Ultra 20 quilt, which was a poor excuse for a 20 degree range bag. I'll use my golite quilt to augment this bag for winter trips, that should bring my sleep system into the sub-zero range.

Quality seems very good. Snug hood, reinforced zippers, silky smooth liner. I'm curious to see how well the foot cinch line works. Montbell was generous with the fill on this bag - it immediately lofted to a lush puffy bag. Golite was stingy on the loft, my ultra 20 rated for 20 degrees is flat and dead - no wonder why I froze at 35 degrees in that bag! I can detect no flaws in this bag at this time.

I'll first test this bag to see how well it performs without my sleeping bag cover in my Tarptent with a Big Agnes Dual Core. At some point I'll see how much better it performs with my sleeping bag cover. I have several trips in the Sierras planned for the summer. The definite ones are hetch hetchy area of Yosimite, Lodgepole area of Sequoia and Lake Alpine area. I might get a chance to bring this to some higher elevation spots near Whitney this summer if I can get into a group I know that won the lotto to hike up there.

Plateau Outdoors came up with the cheapest price for this item based on my web searches. I never heard of them but decided to give them a chance. I'm very pleased with their service. I later found out they are a registered Mont-bell dealer. They shipped the bag within 24 hours of my order and it took less than a week to get the bag. Only improvement they could make is to automatically send an e-mail confirmation of the order. I had to contact them directly for this. I would order from them again without hesitation.

Cool. I've heard really good things about Mont-Bell, but never tried their gear.
