The long and short of it is this is a huge pack that can carry everything you need, and then some (which can be kind of dangerous since you if you fill it to capacity it will be way heavier than you will want to carry for very long) for an extended stay in the backcountry or a winter mountaineering expedition. The company website says that it has a capacity of 4400 cubic inches and I would say that this is fairly accurate. The adjustable frame sheet is fairly easy to use to adjust the frame for a perfect fit. The large lid holds a lot of supplies that you might want to get at right away. It also compresses down pretty tight on the main body of the pack to hold stuff from "sloshing around." The suspension is very secure. I have never had a large pack that hugged my back so well and felt so secure that it didn't make me feel off balance at all even when completely full. The main down sides that I have found are that the water bottle pockets are a little difficult to access when the pack is full and you have it on. Also, I have found that the zipper on the sleeping bag pocket can be rather temperamental to zip and unzip, this may just be an issue with my bag and is a relatively minor issue. |
