Necessities

breathable convertible pants
rain jacket--Marmot Precip
layers--Mountain Hardware
longjohns--Patagonia kids(hey theyre cheaper)
non-cotton socks--SmartWool is great
fast dry undies
boots--Merrell hikers
camp shoes--Reef Sandals--no other option!!!!
hat--OR wool hat
gloves--those convertible mitten things rock
bandana--i luv my "smokey the bear" one
baseball cap--ugliest trucker hat u can find!

i agree with everything but the precip jacket,

i've had mine for a little over 2 years and now when it rains i cant tell which side is the inside!

smart wool socks and capaline underwear are the secret to success in the outdoors, good thinking on including them!
