Good idea, back_country_chef. The only reason I didn't have that listed is because I keep some in the top pocket of my backpack.

I always like to keep about 50' of para cord with me. It comes in handy for everything from boot laces to an emergency safety line.

There is actually a scalpel blade in my med-kit, but I almost always have a folding knife in my pocket and a fixed blade strapped somewhere on my pack.

  21. "Emergency" blade. Most Outdoorzies keep a knife with them, as most survival exercises are just scuppered without one. If you're gonna take just one spare something...

I do take foil. I have it folded up into a square, so the room it takes up is minimal.

So you always take the foil? That's an interesting one. But good one, I can think of lots of uses.
