This is what I use for a multi day trip.

  2. Water bottles (Nalgene… leak-proof)
  3. Hydration system
  4. Sleeping pad
  5. Sleeping bag (30 degree or lower)
  6. Food

  8. Lighter/Matches

  10. Zip-lock bags (2-3empty)
  11. Headlamp/Flashlight
  12. Toothbrush and paste

  15. Sun block
  16. Insect repellant
  17. Chap-stick

  19. TP
  20. Q-tips
  21. Wash Cloth/Moist Towelettes
  22. Deodorant (small stick)
  23. Sunglasses
  24. Hat
  25. Long sleeve shirt (no cotton)
  26. Short Sleeve shirt (no cotton)
  27. Fleece vest or jacket
  28. Waterproof Shell
  29. Water-resistant pants (zip-off if poss.)
  30. Wicking Underwear
  31. Wicking Socks
  32. Boots
  33. Gloves
  34. Guide books
  35. Tent
  36. Compass
  37. Maps
  38. Cell Phone
  39. Ultra-light stove
  40. Cook set
  41. Stove fuel
  42. Duct Tape
  43. First aid kit

  Yep. It's alot of fun. Especially the multi-day ones. 5 days in the wilderness will change you. Your breathing changes, your pulse changes, your general pace of life changes. It's a really neat experience. Your biggest stress is, which meal am I eating tonight, or what time will I stop for a nap, or will I play in that stream this afternoon or just stick my feet in. :)
