About Me
I'm very interested in gear and in chatting with people who like to hike far, especially in the SF Bay Area.
I like long hikes. I've been hitting the gym for years now with various fitness goals & it became really boring so I've switched my focus to being in good hiking shape. I must say that it's a refreshing change of pace & gives me a chance to enjoy my beautiful surroundings.
Living in the San Francisco Bay Area there are numerous open space areas held by East Bay Regional Park District, East Bay Municipal Utility District, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and State Parks that provide plenty of land to roam.
I've spent lots of time in the Sierras but haven't done much overnight hiking. I'm planning more trips this summer. I tried the ultra light thing & didn't like it so I recently bought a larger pack (Osprey Aether 85) and luxurious sleep system (Big Agnes Dual Core with a Montbell sleeping bag cover & Pacific Outdoor self-inflating pillow).
