I'm thinking about guiding a group to Red Byrd Arch via ridgetop in December. It would most likely be on a Wednesday or Thursday. I'd like to see what kind of interest we have first. It will require off-trail hiking, and large amounts of blow downs, and that is the reason i'd like to do it when it is cold...no snakes.

I might be interested in this fishman. Keep me posted on it, sounds like bushwhacking fun!

This would take place somewhere around the 15th -18th. This is a day hike that would take around 3-4 hours. It is also a "DRY" route. When I said "Guide" I did not want to insinuate there would be a charge. We could also make a Pizza/Lunch run after the hike.

I have invited folks here, KYWilderness.com and RedRiversaga.com so this would be a great opportunity for some Outdoor Kentucky networking.

At the moment Thursday, December 18th is looking good. The only thing that could come up is if we decide to take the kids out of school and go to Disney World.
Does anyone know of a good meeting place in Campton, KY? I see some diner/restaurants listed on the internet. Does anyone know anything about Kathy's Country Inn Resturant, Kay's Diner, or Smith's Place ?
I thinking about a place to grab a good but cheap breakfast before we head over to the arch.

If that's out in the 'Red' area check out www.truenorthoutfitters.com Far as I know they're still doing an awesome breakfast every morning, but call and make sure for that time of year. If you stay in Stanton, a great little breakfast/meeting place is Bruen's, it's right behind the Carwash/Laundromat in downtown Stanton-nice little cafe/diner.
