hello everyone, I am new here, and very glad to know you. Just like you all, I am a fan of outdoor sports, especially crazy about hiking and treking.
And because English is not my native language,so,sorry for my mistakes, made and making....
I was born in Kangding,it is a small and beautiful town in Sichuan province,China. But, Ummmmm~ actually,it is quite close to Tibet,or it's just a part of Tibet and my name -- Dorje,it's a Tibetan name so.
Best wish~!
cheers

Great to hear from somebody out of Tibet.... Can you share anything regarding the situation there? Have things settled down a bit, or is it just quiet before the games?
Welcome to the community, and to be honest your English is probably better than mine - and I'm a native speaker.
Cheers

Sure,I'd like to tell what I knew there. It has settled down a lot,but I think it's still tough yet. And I believe that everything there will be better soon.
Most importantly,I wanna say thanks,I really appreciate American people's help on May 12th earthquake.
Hope the planet which we are shareing together become better and better.

Quote: Yes, welcome aboard Dorje. It's great to have a member from Tibet.
What is the climate like where you live?
thanks, the climate here is quite changeable and the weather is uncertain, I thought it is because the altitude and landform.
Maybe I can say it doesn't have summer in Kangding, but LuDing County does, which is only 60km car-road from my county -- Kangding. Why I mentioned LuDing County it is because the highest mountain in Sichuan Province -- Mt.Gongga elev.7556m (24790ft) is there, and there is a very classic hiking route there around the mountain. It is cool~!
and follow this link link to Gongga Mountain cyclingyou can get some photos about the route someone uploaded on the internet. And also as wdew23 said,we can search the google earth to find more about there.
by the way : Mt.Googga 29°35'45.00"N , 101°52'45.00"E
