If I were to go to New Zealand I would first hike on or around Volcanic Plateaus on the North Island and I also would hike to Mitre Peak and go kayaking in its amazing water. The site where the Lord of the Rings was filmed might also be interesting to visit. But I would do anything to get out and explore somewhere other then the Oklahoma's !!!

Okay folks this was tough. We had several great entries, and a few that were, well... detailed!
But as with every contest, there must be a winner... and this one is no different.
So congrats to absolutpink!!
Absolutpink, if you'll just message me with the address you'd like your Kelty pack and Lonely Planet guide sent to, 100% New Zealand will get it in the mail to you! Hopefully you'll make your way to NZ some day very soon.
Thanks so much for all the great entries... stay tuned, another contest is hot on the heels of this one. We want to give as much free gear away as we can this year!!!

I would begin the trip by checking out some of the fine drinking establishments and meet up with some of locals. From there I would definitely start my post-pub times with hopes of catching some good swell. New Zealand is packed with killer surf spots but to keep the Wife happy I'd definitely add in some serious hiking to the mix. Post-hike maybe mix in some geothermal pools, definintely snap lots and lots of photos and, of course, see some sheep and snap some shots of those messy looking creatures, too!
In a country ripe with surf, forests, mountains, geo-thermal pools, beautiful rivers, rain forests and more I think I could easily find some amazing things to do!
be good, JP
