I'm looking for some new gear and I wanted to know whats your favorite toy (gear). I just got a Hennessy Hammock and I'm sure it will be my new favorite check it out http://hennessyhammock.com/. I will post a review as soon as soon as the snow melts and I get to try it out.

I would have to say my Sterno Portable Stove, especially because I travel so much, it's nice not having to dump all my fuel to get onto planes. My U-Dig-It trowel has come in very useful on many occasions. A military field jacket liner is also tops.

when the day is long and my body is tired, the sling chair that fits around my thermarest....you can sit and cook and then recline to watch the stars. I also love MY FRIENDS, portable sink....fill it with warm water, go hide behind some rocks, wash up with biodegradable peppermint soap....feels amazing!

My form of backpacking consists of throwing stuff into my large dry sack and then on an oar rig. That being said, I love my groover.

If I am backpacking, then a book for sure and the slings over the thermarest are amazing.

I'd have to say, hands down, it's my Montane Featherlight wind jacket and pants. It's the single most useful component of backpacking gear I won't hit the trail without. It's a great first layer when the temperature starts to drop, a great light rain layer, a great bug-protection layer, and a good cover-up when I'm washing my other layers along the trail. It's really hard to beat.

A close second would be my home-made, sleeping quilt of my own design built from the supplies in a Ray Jardin quilt kit.

My Seattle Sports pocket bucket is very cool. Folds up to the size of wallet & holds several gallons of water. Saves taking trips to the watering hole & is an excellent wash tub away from sensitive watershed areas & brings the water close to camp.
