So a discussion at Cumberland Brews the other night piqued my interest and thought I'd bring it here.
What song (or songs) or artist usually goes through your head while you're: Climbing, Riding, Hiking, Paddling, Running, Sailing, or doing whatever Outdoorzy thing you do.

Alot goes through mine, although I find that Pearl Jam seems to find it's way into my cranium quite often. Especially on the last day of the trip....."Why go home? Why go home?"

When I am pumped, I hear a little "More Human Than Human" by Rob Zombie.

Some Queen song, Old Crow's "Deportee", John Prine's "Big Old Goofy World" and Jurassic 5 songs. I have a lot.

Going the Distance, by Cake, specifically. Other than that, mostly classic rock.

Spot on! I was absolutely on-board with the Pearl Jam suggestion earlier; it seems that the collective output of Vedder, Gossard et al is destined to form the soundtrack of my adulthood, but you're dead right, when it comes to getting pumped...

"reluctantly crouched ... at the starting line,
engines pumping ... and thumping in time..."

Inspired choice. I salute you.

The White Stripes also do a good job of getting me pumped!

... and letting me know it's okay to wear ridiculous hats and not to comb your hair for a month, I guess.
