Ha! That's funny...It never really occured to me that the soles of my feet could get sunburned....that's not really something you plan for.
I never was a boy scout though....

Mine would have to be spring break when I was 15 in St. Thomas. First day we went to the beach to get sun and windsurf. I guess when I sat down on the beach chair the sun screen wore off behind my knees and upper calves. That night I could not walk at all. My legs were huge, so I applied after sun care stuff to help. Two days later it was still bad and I was stuck inside. My dad took me to an "island" doctor. No English at all and they told me to take antibiotics. They said the name and it was the anthrax medicine so mom told me no. Next day really could not walk and apparently my legs were having this blue tint to them on the back. The only thing I could wear was skirts. So we went to this other doctor and he was American. First of all never put cream or anything like that on a burn, it just holds the heat in. I got put on Vicadin and prednisone and benedryll. No idea on spellings here. This is when we found out I was allergic go benedryll. I could not sit still, I kept laughing and shaking and rocking back and forth and I saw dolphins standing in front of me. Then I passed out.

So now my legs never really get that tan anymore because I freak out. It was so painful.

Man, I wish I was allergic to benadryl....It would have saved me alot of money in high school...no pun intended...
So did you have stripes on your legs...or were they just red? That would be funny.

No stripes, but the redness started from like right above my knee and then it was the worst like right where you bend it and kinda went down my calf. Whenever I get sun on it you can still see the line from it.

While this story occured a few years back ( on a Spring Break trip ) I will never forget it. Six of us crammed in a van and headed to Florida....Cocoa Beach actually. We were from Maryland of course we all still had virgin skin due to the fact in was late April.
We arrived and settled in and on our second day it was to the beach for my first surf lesson. After mastering small waves for a good two hours I needed a rest on my blanket. Oops. No sun protection! After only 2 hours I was fried ( blonde hair, blue eyes type.) By dinner I wasn't able to hardly move. Every inch of my body that was exposed ( I wore a bikini ) was as beet red as....well a beet. Couldn't sleep at all. Up all night in agony. Much to my surprise the next morning I had giant water-filled welts all over my face. It was bad. I started vomiting so I had to go to an emergency clinic and get some sort of creme. Was sick for 24hrs. After a few days the creme started working and the pus/water-filled sacks attached to my face started to dry up. Good....Disney World here come!

My worst sunburn was a few summers ago on a 4th of July canoe/fishing trip.My freind and I had this 60 acre lake all to ourselfs and we had started the day around 7am and we fished all day until around 6pm that evening when we decided to work our way out of a cove and head back to the boat luanch, now keep in mind that we had been catching a lot of nice small and large mouths all day with a beer here and there(i guess with all the fish we were pulling in and the few beers,I had forgot to apply my sun screen.when I made it it home my wife was like omg,you need to go look at your back,so I headed to the bedroom to have a peek.OMG,this has to be the worst I have ever seen on anyone in my life time(I work constuction and i have seen a fair amount of sun burns through out the years)but this one was by far the worst.Thank goodness for solarcane.I sent my wife to the store to buy a can of the stuff even though at the time I had no pain at all.The following morning I was woken with one of the worst pains of my life(outside of kidney stones)and I had even thought about going to the Doc. but decided to stay home and use the solarcane instead,in the first day I went through 3 cans of the stuff plus a bottle of alovera lotion, this went on for a week and a half and then the fun started, the itching and pealing,I pealed three times on this burn and the first two layers were as thick as note book paper.Anyways this is my story and i hope noone ever has to deal with a sunburn as bad as the one I had.

We're going to leave this one open for a few more days before we decide. We'll announce the winner on Friday. So you have until then to get your story in.

Anyone else have a burninating story they'd like to share?
