Hi, my name is Cheri and I am in my thirties. I am new to the outdoors stuff. In May I am going to my first camping trip to the Everglades. I am thinking at some point about learning to kayak. I am hoping to learn more about the outdoors from you guys! See ya!

Welcome Gatorgirl,
The 'Glades are a wonderful place, but be careful going too late in May. The wet season starts usually in May and ramps up for real in early June - which means bugs become unbearable after the first week or two of good rain. That said, with a little big spray it can still be enchanting, especially if you can get to the West side of the park in any type of watercraft. Crazy water birds, outstanding sunsets, and yes, gators too.

Thanks for the welcomes! I will bring more than enough bug spray. I will definately do a trip report. I can't wait to get out of Wisconsin- way too cold here. I guess I have a few more months of it though.
