I cannot run at all thanks to my knee that doctors refuse to operate on. Ride your bike. Personally I climb in the gym, and take their core and yoga classes. Oh yeah, taking yoga for a class in college next semester=pure bliss.

Well, I can tell you what has worked for me in the past.

Every day has to have a purpose.

Monday is a recovery run day. Easy but, not necessarily short. Tuesday is speed work or hill repeats. Wednesday is light weights in the gym. Thursday is a mid-mileage tempo run. Friday back to the gym for some cross training. Saturday is long run day. Sunday is optional; either run trails (my preference) or ride the bicycle.

Mix up the courses and workouts. Keeping it fresh keeps it interesting.

Update on my own motivation... I ran last night. My frozen Snot was an anti-motivational tool. But I did get to scare the crap out of some lady and her dog. BAHHHH!!! Scared by my suddenly running up behind her... not the snot.

Every day does have a purpose. Monday I usually knock back a sixer while flipping between sit-coms and Monday night football, Tuesday is jello shot repeats, usually disguised as dessert. Wednesday night is Microbrew night, Thursday night is a clear liquor night, Friday night is either a rest night or a funnel night depending on Saturday's work schedule. Saturday night I usually curl up with a KY bourbon, and Sunday is cross training, usually I run to the liquor store.

I guess I need to embrace the winter, but here in KY it usually just gets me down. I mean, there's no snow and the trails are muddy.
