Ok, i'm throwing out a desperation post here; i've been back from alaska for two months and still no good work to be found. so, i'm thinking maybe i just hit the road, though the debt collectors won't be happy and see where my feet take me. i've been thinking to do the AT or one of the other major thru hikes in the US. Seems like the AT would be easiest to deal with this time of year. Or does anyone know where i can find work that pays reasonably that involves outdoor industry? waiting for thoughts...

I'd say go, now! Think long think wrong, write that down.

Definitly go now. If you don't and you get a job you may not get the chance to go later.

Okay, I vote... go for it. Maybe get out to the Southwest and hike something out there. Hell, if you can scrounge a plane ticket get out of the US. You can live cheaply in Central America.

But if you are thinking of staying I just got an email from someone opening a store in Louisville, Ky called The Trail Store. I'll get you more details if you want them.

get me those details if you can Wade, i'm curious.

On another note, i'm still around, so making this decision basically sucks! i really feel like i should pay off the debt first and be the 'responsible adult' type. i'd love to just ditch and go but i have about $450 left to my name and owe all of it to bills by the end of this month. i know, i know...i'm disclosing [rather, complaining] about personal issues but hell, i figure someone out there might have some insight. do you?

What about taking a temporary job in a warmer climate? Caribbean?

I've always thought that would be sweet. Plus, sunshine and sand always help me make life-decisions.

Pork chops help me make decisions.
I don't know if that helps.

But, I do know that several charter companies down in Florida and HH are looking for crew.
If you like sailing that is. I've done that over a few winters the past few years.
