well,
I did it, i joined the ranks of those annoying guys in spandex on the side of the road. I just bought a Specialized Allez of off a friend. I've been wanting to get into road biking for a while, and I had been borrowing bikes for a couple weeks and just decided to take the plunge. I'm hooked. I love how I can escape for a ride any time during the week and just completely get away from everything.

Anything from Specialized, Trek, Felt, Cannodale, KHS, etc, are pretty good bikes. Just make sure it fits you well. Go to a shop and have them size you for the bike.

with the recent surge in good weather around central KY I hope to be able to put some more miles on the new bike!

life is tough having a busy schedule but craving to get out and do things outside... I don't know when I can find the time when it's still light outside to ride.

I used to think I would never wear spandex and ride road... wrong. It will make you so much faster on your MTB, turning big gears on the road makes you strong. The convenience is also great, when you're pressed for time you can just roll out from the house.

I am selling a 04 Full Carbon Madone, (size 56) as trick as they come. Lance's Bike. If anyone is interested. It is full Durace, upgraded to Ksyerium wheels, I know, I know, put it in classified.. Don't buy a new Hyundai when I can set you up with a low mileage Mercedes for the same price.

Upgrading to spandex is the best route I made. There are variants of natural wool that are just as light that wick away the sweat, but are a little more pricey.

I have really gotten into road biking in the last two years, and mountain biking in the past three, and I have been using a Giant (something) for MTB'ing, and a Cannondale R400 for road cycling and commuting.

I just bought a dedicated bike for road cycling/racing, saving the R400 for commuting. Presenting... the Cannondale SystemSix4
