I am in about my 4th week of training for a 5k. It is a 9 week program. This is pretty big for me since I have never run anything like a 5k before. In fact the training program I am using is called couch to 5k.

I would eventually love to get into sprint triathlons. Not necessarily for the sprint part of it. Have any of you guys done the sprint triathlons before?

I can't wait to get this first 5k under my belt!

I did my first 5k last year, and my first 'off-road sprint tri' 3 weeks ago. After a couple of races.. I'm totally hooked. I'm looking forward to doing another. When you have a chance, check out www.trifind.com

Good Luck!

I did a few sprint tri's last summer. Lots of fun, built in cross training, great people. Triathlon is a great sport. I'm not doing any this season but I hope to do some next year. It's addicting.

Congrats on starting running. I started about 2 years ago, and have since done 1 full and 1 half marathon. I am training for another marathon right now.

Once you start, it's hard to stop.

Running is such an easy way to get into shape. All you need are a pair of shoes and a little time each day and you are there in no time. Sweaty though this time of year in the US southeast though...

I am really really liking it. As long as I have some music to listen to. I think 3 miles is going to be knocked out easily in no time.

Thanks for asking. I haven't ran it yet. I actually ran the course with my lady friend last night. It went a lot better than I thought I would. I have a 5k next weekend and then the weekend after that the 5k that the training was for. I figured I would do a warm up 5k the weekend before just for the heck of it.

That's cool Emily. Keep me posted. I am a little bit of a runner so I am always interested in how others are doing.
