Yes, Yes they are. I've heard that pop tarts where a major foodstuff of the ancient Egyptians....but I could be wrong.

Pop Tarts were somewhat inspired by the sarcophagus because of the protective outer shell and the more delicate insides. I read that in Pop Tart Magazine.
